Attendance
Regular attendance is important for both academic progress and wellbeing. At Huntingdon House School we work closely with families to support students in attending school regularly and feeling comfortable in their learning environment.
We understand that some of our students may experience challenges that can affect attendance. For this reason, we take a supportive and flexible approach, working in partnership with parents and carers to address any difficulties.
Supporting Good Attendance
Parents and carers are asked to inform the school as soon as possible if their child is unable to attend school.
Absences may be authorised for reasons such as:
-
illness
-
medical or dental appointments
-
religious observance
-
family bereavement
-
exceptional circumstances agreed by the Headteacher
If we notice patterns of absence or attendance concerns, we will work with families to identify the best ways to support the student.
Our aim is always to help students feel safe, confident and ready to learn.
